Student Safety & Participation Guidelines
MedConnect is committed to ensuring safe, structured, and meaningful shadowing experiences for all students. These guidelines outline expectations and requirements for participation.
Observation Only
All shadowing experiences are observational unless a hosting organization explicitly states otherwise. Students do not perform clinical procedures or provide patient care.
Parental Consent
All students under 18 must have signed parental or guardian consent before participating in any shadowing activity.
Confidentiality
Students must respect patient privacy and follow all host-site confidentiality, safety, and conduct requirements.
Professional Conduct
Students must dress appropriately, arrive on time, follow staff instructions, and behave professionally at all times.
Host-Site Policies
Participation is subject to host-site policies, eligibility criteria, scheduling availability, consent requirements, and any required screening or documentation.
Health Requirements
Some host sites require proof of vaccinations, health screening, or other documentation. Requirements vary by site.
